The Truth About Suboxone and SR-17018

A lot of people think substances like Suboxone and SR-17018 are “safe” and the "miracle solution" for getting off kratom products, 7-OH, and pain meds because they’re different from traditional opioids,  but the reality is that both still act on opioid receptors in the brain and both can become addictive...just like the substances they're already dependent on.

Suboxone is widely used in recovery treatment and has helped save many lives, but many people still become physically dependent on it after long-term use. SR-17018, an experimental opioid-like research compound, also targets many of the same opioid receptors and may carry similar risks for dependence and addiction. One major concern with SR-17018 is that it’s still considered a research chemical, meaning there is very limited human safety data available.

One of the biggest misconceptions is that “partial opioids” or “safer opioids” can’t cause withdrawal symptoms. Unfortunately, that’s not true. People trying to stop either substance may experience:
  • Anxiety
  • Insomnia
  • Depression
  • Restlessness
  • Body aches
  • Fatigue
  • Cravings
Many users report that withdrawal from Suboxone can last for weeks due to its long half-life. Since SR-17018 hasn’t been heavily studied in humans, the full withdrawal effects aren’t fully understood yet — but early reports say similar challenges may occur

The bottom line: just because something is marketed as safer or different doesn’t mean it’s not going to lead to another dependance. Any substance that repeatedly activates opioid receptors has the potential to cause dependence, withdrawal, and addiction.
